TWENTY-EIGHTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON COMBUSTION

will be held the week of

July 30 - August 4, 2000

at the

University of Edinburgh

Scientists, engineers and others interested in combustion are invited to attend and participate in this biennial event

Stop Press
  • Symposium Office contact details:
  • Tel:   +44-131 650 4581
    FAX: +44-131 650 4582
  • Last minute registration details can be found here: registration
  • A useful map showing Pollock Halls, some of the hotels and the Appleton Tower in George Square can be found at: local map
  • With the large number of delegates registering, a number of symposium hotels are now full. We can provide alternatives, but these may be further away from the Symposium venue. (Check with the official conference co-ordinators Clansman Monarch for latest information - contact details on web page).
  • Plenty of rooms are still available in the campus accommodation at Pollock Halls. These are of good quality and well situated for the Symposium. They offer comfortable rooms in nice surroundings. Check them out.
  • It is with regret that we have to announce that the post-Symposium Gems of Scotland tour has attracted insufficient interest to be viable. We have therefore decided to withdraw it. Arrangements are in hand to re-imburse those who have already booked, but no other bookings will be accepted.
  • On the accompanying guest's programme, the Tuesday outing to Culross and Stirling castle is oversubscribed and, with regret, we can take no further bookings for this. Note that places are still available for the Thursday Perthshire outing; this should also be a good day out.
  • Any delegate planning to use trains to reach Edinburgh may like to check the following web sites for information:
