To try to give everyone a decent chance of winning the coveted West Yorkshire NTV Champion Bowler trophy, we use a handicap system in ranking players in the league table.

Your handicap for the current season is calculated by subtracting from 200 your average at the end of the last season in which you played. This handicap is then added to your current average to give you a number of points. Hence players are ranked according to who has improved most. This makes it very difficult to win the trophy twice in consecutive seasons!

Note that handicaps for new players are calculated from their first two games, and apply for the remainder of the season.

Eventually I will include an automated list of current handicaps on this page, but I haven’t got round to it yet. I will post a message on the recent changes page when it’s done.
